Brazilian influencer Mayara Lopes is no stranger to the controversies surrounding her career on OnlyFans, the popular adult content platform. Since embarking on this path, her life took a radical turn, going from a cleaning lady to earning six figures annually. However, this professional success came at a high personal cost.

In an exclusive interview with The Thread Girl, Mayara shared how her seven-year marriage ended when her then-husband, who initially supported her entry into OnlyFans, began making “derogatory comments” that undermined their relationship. “A year and a half ago, I decided to end my marriage (…) We started fighting a lot,” the influencer revealed.

After the breakup, Mayara tried to build a new relationship with a photographer, who initially seemed like the perfect partner. However, he preferred to keep their romance a secret because of her work. “He directly told me the reason he didn’t want our relationship to be public: he didn’t want his family to see his Instagram and discover he was dating a porn star,” the Brazilian recalled, describing the negative impact these experiences had on her self-esteem and mental health.

«We are widely discriminated against»

Mayara confessed to feeling socially isolated. “It’s almost impossible to have a social life outside the scene, and I can’t even be friends with other moms at my son’s school,” she said, adding that these experiences drove her to seek help to rebuild her self-confidence. From her new home in Florida, she decided to use her story as a vehicle to support other content creators and advocate for mental health in the industry.

With this mission in mind, she wrote the book “My Naked Journey”, a work aimed at inspiring and guiding those facing similar stigmas. “There is nothing wrong with what we do for work,” the influencer asserts, now balancing her role as a single mom with her activism and success on the platform.
